Get Involved in The York Proms 2019!

The York Proms aims to give opportunities to local people, as well as bring in top national, and international, talent. From the first year, local choirs and bands have been involved but we plan to expand it for this coming year. Would you like to be involved? Read on for more..

The York Proms Choir
We will soon be launching a choir, which will be involved in the show on 14th July 2019. The choir members will attend a series of workshops to learn the songs and also to help to write a new song for York that will be performed on the day and in choir flashmobs ahead of the event.
If you would like to join the choir, please register your interest using the button on the right. You'll need to sign up with your email address. If you don't have an email address you can write to us at York Proms, PO Box 810, York, YO31 6DH.
The choir will be made up of 90 members, or possibly two choirs, one adult and one youth, so there could be 180 places available in total.

Soloists, Groups and Bands
We will also have a community stage element to the evening show, both as a warm up to the main show and during the interval, so if you would like to be considered, please sign up to the email newsletter too, and we will let you know when selections start (expected to be late October/early November 2018). We have announced The Wilberforce Trust as our designated charity for 2019 and performers will have the chance to get involved with supporting one of their charity concerts too. Please note, soloists can also sign up for the choir and this is encouraged.
